The Model 3600 is the first heat panel we designed for the retail aftermarket, and is still the most purchased RV tank heater used in aftermarket retrofitting today. When upgrading the output capabilities of the Power converter has to be given consideration, is there enough additional output to support the new system if it's 13.5 Volt Direct Current only? Being a twofold heating element unit which can operate on either 120 VAC or 13.5 VDC, it can be used when DC voltage allowance is tight from the AC to DC converter in this way
Operate on DC while traveling down the road when your units DC demand is low and most DC power loads are turned off, once you get to your destination and can plug-in or power off a generator, switch off the DC side and use the AC side of this panel. This way the burden of powering this panel is relieved from the converter and onto the 120 VAC system. Both AC and DC sides displace about the same amount of heat needed to protect up to 40 Gallon (151 Liter) RV holding tank capacities down to our design benchmark of -11F (-24C), and both sides have a built-in sensor to monitor and maintain the holding tank fluids between approx... 44F and 64F (6.6 & 17.7C), once powered up under the two conditions of colder freezing weather conditions and with fluid present within the tank. Another way that this model can be used occasionally is if the RVer is experiencing more extreme weather conditions, while not recommended as a standard operational procedure, both heating elements can be operated at the same time to get through those periods of severe cold weather. Like all of our other RV heaters, this panel has an easy peel-n-stick backing using our proprietary adhesive formula, designed not to breakdown and ultimately fail and release like most on the market, in fact ours increases its adhesion properties in the ageing process. The method in which our adhesive is applied also gives it a stronger molecular concentration, far superior to the secondary adhesion process most commonly used. All reasons which is why we are not surprised to hear of reported heat panels still attached and functional after decades of use.
